Design Awards
This year, the jurors selected
12 submissions for Merit Award distinction.
Specifically, (4) for Architecture including
(2) projects which also received Sustainable
Design Award, (4) for Interior Architecture,
(1) for Urban Design and (3) for Unbuilt projects.
In addition, four recipients of the AIA Hong
Kong Scholastic Award 2010 have been selected
by the University of Hong Kong, Chinese University
of Hong Kong, Tongji University and Tsinghua
University.
The AIA Hong Kong would like to express sincere

to announce this year's Chapter Citations recipients
are:

Professor Edward Ng and Team
In recognition of distinguished achievement
in the Chapter's region for the design and construction
of a cological demonstration village school
in Maosi, Gansu Province, China, that relies
on traditional building materials and techniques
to create energy saving sustainable architecture
with optimal thermal performance in the extreme
climate conditions.
Thomas Schmidt, AIA
Architect, author and illustrator
In recognition of significant achievement
in promoting the values of cultural heritage,
eco-tourism and vernacular architecture in the
Chapter's region, such as Borneo and Sumatra,
through educational graphic novels in the Bumbling
Traveler adventure series that are richly informed
through detailed research and vividly portrayed
by exquisitely hand-drawn illustrations.
