Beijing Sanlitun Redevelopment is intended as a commercially viable public environment that is enriched by “cultural artistic functions” and “places for people”. It recalls of the “Hutong” human-scale and grain, which fuses culture and art with activity and excitement. The master plan optimizes access by permissible edges, while the architecture are sculpted by exterior spaces to encourage the fluxes of pedestrians moving in-between the community.
