Dear Members,

As part of the AIA Hong Kong Co-X Webinar Series, Steelcase Education Director APAC, Ambroise d’Hauteville, and Regional Education Specialist, Owen Pescod, will share valuable insights on smart-learning environments in this rapidly changing and uncertain time.

Drawing on the century-long commitment Steelcase has established with customers and the industry, this presentation will highlight the unique problems of our time, the culture of learning, and the process of innovation using three different types of case studies: corporate campus, vertical campus and  university campus.

The webinar will also address the physical and emotional challenges that learning environments will face post Covid -19 and some potential ways to address this new world.

This panel discussion is free for all AIA Hong Kong members, with a maximum of 500 participants. Below are instructions for participating in this event:

Speakers’ Bios

Ambroise d’Hauteville

Steelcase Education Director – APAC

Ambroise has led the Steelcase Education business since May 2018, following five years in the China Direct Market where education was also part of his responsibility. In these two roles, he has combined his international experience with his local knowledge of Workplace Strategies and Active Learning Spaces to help leading organizations, schools and universities create work- and learning-spaces that enable people to be more collaborative and efficient.

Ambroise joined Steelcase in 2002 as a Sales Consultant in North Africa. He moved to the International Key Account team in 2004 in Paris, France, and later to China, in 2008, to work on Global Accounts in the Asia Pacific region – initially in Beijing, followed by Shanghai. In 2016, he moved to Hong Kong with his family.

Before joining Steelcase, Ambroise was a Paris-based project manager, organizing major IT events in Europe. He graduated in international trade from IPAG Business School in Paris and is fluent in French and English, with a working knowledge of German. Ambroise and his wife have three young children, all of whom were born in China.

Owen Pescod

Steelcase Regional Education Specialist – Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, South Korea

Based in Hong Kong, Owen works with leading local and international schools as well as with universities to develop creative, active learning environments that support ever evolving modern pedagogies. He believes that space ultimately shapes behavior and that behavior, over time, becomes culture. His focus is therefore on creating spaces designed around students, that enhance and build upon each school’s unique culture.

Owen has a degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Kent. He joined Steelcase from the property industry, where he acquired experience in corporate and residential leasing throughout Hong Kong. A lifelong Hong Kong resident, Owen lives with his two boys and wife, who is a primary school teacher.

Moderator

Sung Lee, AIA

Sung has over two decades of experience in architecture, from concept design through the construction phase, in more than 35 cities and ten countries. His projects are of various types and scales: from urban master-planning and campus planning to R&D, healthcare and educational facilities, residential complexes, high-rise offices and mixed-use developments. At present, his focus is on large scale, complex projects that require integration between strategic planning, architecture, interior design and sustainability.

Sung is also a qualified professional in sustainable design – he has been a LEED AP since 2003. His KTPH Hospital project in Singapore was the first Green Mark Platinum building in the country and has received several awards.
