The Hong Kong SAR Government together with the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design, the Hong Kong Institute of Planners, and the Hong Kong Green Building Council and the Government of Barcelona City collaborate to form an urban exchange platform will organize the first of the series of event – a symposium to be held in Feb 2014 at Hong Kong. The title of the symposium is “Hong Kong – Barcelona Urban Exchange: A Dual Approach to Waterfront Regeneration”. It is aimed to share and explore urban development experience on issues among the two cities – Hong Kong and Barcelona. It will be a good opportunity for government officials, architects, planners, urban designers and practitioners to exchange experience and ideas for further collaboration between Hong Kong and Barcelona city.
The Symposium is organized by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Government of Barcelona and the three professional Institutes/organizations and supported by many professional institutions, government departments and organizations. Subject to unforeseeable changes, we are honoured to have Mrs Carrie Lam, the Chief Secretary for Administration, HKSARG; Mr Xavier Trias i Vidal de Llobatera, Mayor of Barcelona to be the guests of honour for the Symposium.
The speakers of the symposium are from a diverse background, including governmental organizations, professional bodies, and a wide range of industries and sectors, both from Hong Kong and the Barcelona City. Details of the Symposium are as follow:
