AIA Hong Kong x PMQ Building Tour
Date(s) - 21/08/2014
5:00 pm - 7:15 pm
AIA Hong Kong Chapter Office
S602, Block A, PMQ, 35 Aberdeen Street
Originally founded to “elevate the standing of the profession” the AIA is testament to more than 150 years of history, tradition and innovation. Now, with more and more members practicing worldwide and with five international chapters, the Institute continues to provide opportunities for its members and the community to interact through seminars, building tours, educational programs and other events that embody the principles of design excellence, technological advancement and material innovation. As the largest of the international chapters, AIA Hong Kong is comprised of both local members and others from throughout the southeast Asia-Pacific region who focus on the sustainability of the built environment and the importance of urban design in shaping better, more livable cities.
Our new home is at the former Police Married Quarters (PMQ), a Grade III listed building and the most recent example of successful adaptive reuse in Hong Kong. PMQ supports local artists, designers, retailers and brand innovators, that welcomes budding and well established designers alike, and that fosters a relaxed environment for the free exchange of ideas. AIA Hong Kong is proud to have made its first permanent home at PMQ and looks forward to becoming an integral part of this creative arts hub.
Join us in celebrating this special occasion, when AIA Hong Kong, a Chapter of the American Institute of Architects officially opens its doors at PMQ
