HKIUD: HKIUD Urban Design Conference 2018 “Actions for Active Ageing – Urban Design for All”

AIA Hong Kong invites you to join the HKIUD conference – Actions for Active Ageing: Urban Design for All.  This event will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 8:45 am at the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

While it is well understood that the population is living longer and more independently, there is still a great deal to be learned and considered.  From broad public policy to the finer details of how to create environments that successfully address the needs of this group, there are many opportunities for us to gain greater insight and provide more thoughtful responses in our work.  The conference will incorporate a workshop, seminar, and pilot projects to further explore the topic and encourage discussion on the urban planning aspects of the ageing community.

The HKIUD Conference 2018 will explore both the physical and social issues of how our cities can be more inclusive and why better urban design is essential in reinforcing the cultural ties in our communities, especially with an ageing population.  This conference will provide a unique platform for the exchange of ideas like walkability, active living environments, transport modes, social participation, healthcare, mixed-use development, and others.

AIA Hong Kong is the supporting organization for the conference and members can register before 15 March 2018 to enjoy the early bird rate. Registration Form
