Art Basel Hong Kong 2013 AXA VIP Art Tour: Architects On Art
23 & 26 May, 2013 , HKCEC, Wanchai, Hong Kong
The Tour
This particular tour of Art Basel in HK 2013 will focus on the interplay of art and architecture in a contemporary art context, highlighting in particular artworks and installations which attempt to bridge the gap between two and three dimensions and conceptually, between art and design, purpose and functionality.  Amy has a BA in Philosophy and Music from Wellesley College in Boston.

The Tour Guide
Amy Wood after working at MoMA in NYC to raise funds for the Yoshi Taniguchi-designed expansion, Amy moved to China in 2004 where she was the editor for Art Asia Pacific. As an independent curator and art consultant, she worked on many design and real estate projects in China in the planning and design phases, including Sinolink’s Rockbund, a 1 million sq. foot mixed-use real estate development which includes one of the first contemporary art museums in China, the Rockbund Museum designed by David Chipperfield, as well as the Hangzhou Urban Constellation Project, a cultural infrastructure project consisting of four museums of Design, Architecture, Urbanism and Fashion designed by Herzog de Meuron. In 2009 she moved to Shanghai to work as the Director of Development and Communications for Asia Art Archive, in charge of programming for the Collector’s Circle, a private patron’s group benefiting the non-profit. Her area of specialization is contemporary Chinese art and her area of interest is educating new clients about how to integrate contemporary art more fully into their educational projects, commercial developments and daily lives.
