Dear AIA Hong Kong Members and Friends,
As we come to the end of the year, I want to first and foremost express my gratitude to the AIA Hong Kong Chapter team that have been so committed, giving and wonderful to work with throughout the year.
Our Executive Board made up of Sujata Govada, Christine Lampert, Rex Wong and William Lim have all been wonderful partners and colleagues. Our Committee Chairs (Peter Basmajian, Brian Bessanaire, Sean Chiao, Grover Dear, Roger Dunn, Ted Givens, Kenneth Hau, Christopher Law, Greg Leong, Vikki Lew, and J Lee Rofkind) have contributed countless hours of volunteer time to lead this year’s initiatives focusing on “Innovation, Invention and Inspiration.” Each of them in their own way has provided the inspired ideas that have been the basis for all of our Programs and Events throughout the year.
2014 has also been notable for the AIA Hong Kong Chapter’s deep involvement with the other AIA International Chapters and other collaborative professional organizations, including our colleagues at HKIA, RIBA, HKIDA, HKUDI, and many, many others. Our past Chapter President Christine Bruckner has provided great leadership for the International Region this year. I also want to express my personal thanks to our IR Asia Zone Regional Representative, Peter Basmajian, who has shouldered multiple responsibilities and extra workload in several meaningful roles for the Chapter this year.
It’s important to recognize with thanks, the contributions of our supporting Sponsors, Media partners and Corporate Affiliates who have provided the essential funding, venues and support that allowed us to bring events and activities to our members all year long.
We are fortunate to be surrounded by a truly energetic, visionary and vibrant community of designers, architects and planners in Hong Kong and the region and we look forward to their, and your, involvement in our activities and thought leadership next year.
On behalf of the entire Chapter, I would also like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the unfailing Chapter Administrative Team of Catherine Wong and Vivian Chan, whose tireless efforts have kept us all on track and productive throughout the year. They are truly our “Heart and Soul” and we are deeply grateful for their hours of dedication in support of all we do.
I wish you all a wonderful Holiday Season. May each and every one of you find great joy and happiness through your design inspirations this coming year and for many more years ahead.
Finally, please come and celebrate this merry season with colleagues and friends at the annual AIA Hong Kong Chapter Holiday Party on December 9th.
As always, remember to check our website (www.aiahk.org) to keep informed about upcoming Chapter activities as well as a number of other related programs which we support.
With warm regards,
2014 President – AIA Hong Kong Chapter – Christian Low, AIA
