Jockey Club Innovation Tower Tour

April 26, 2014

Located at the northeastern tip of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University campus, The Jockey Club Innovation Tower is the new home to PolyU’s School of Design, the driving force in the development of Hong Kong as a major hub for design in Asia.  Mr. Simon Yu, an Associate at Zaha Hadid Architects, and two of his colleagues gave AIA Hong Kong members an exclusive tour and explained the process involved in the creation of this exciting new building, the firm’s latest work in Hong Kong.

Mr. Yu started with a brief history of Zaha Hadid Architects, then elaborated on the evolution of the design and the various challenges encountered in construction of the tower.  AIA members were also offered an exclusive tour of the studios, interior spaces and the lecture hall, accompanied by a representative from the University.

AIA Hong Kong members received 2.0 Learning Units for attending this building tour.
