There are 10 national parks in China and the Qianjiangyuan National Park in Kaihua is one of them. With the rare and abundant resources, Kaihua will be the first national park city in China. This project is to build a paradigm of national park conservation and smart growth of closely linked township.
Kaihua National Park City upholds the principle of close link between city and park. Kaihua will be an authentic heritage place and a value conversion place of the national park, exploring a “resource-to-asset” development model. It will also be an iconic place of the national park, creating an international communication portal for national park.
The plan proposes four Park Actions. First, we pay attention to the restoration of National Park Gene, which is rare ecology and culture resources. There are three rivers meeting in the central urban area, which is an important corridor for regional ecological and water safety. We demolish or modified the existing dams to restore of river habitats and build wild corridors perpendicular to the river of four-level green space system. Then, we merge cultural element in wetland, farmland, mountain, and ecological landmarks to renew the ancient town brand. Third, we transform the industrial heritage and industry park into green and innovative space. Build National Park Research & EXPO Cluster and National Park Industry Incubation. Finally, we build a national park road going through the diverse space in the city. It enhances the natural sense of the city and tell the biophilic lifestyle here.
