It is our pleasure to invite you for a Yung Kee Experience on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
William Lim, FAIA, Managing Director of CL3, will conduct a tour of his recent repositioning work of the renowned Cantonese restaurant – Yung Kee. For William, “It’s a very important place to preserve history. It means a lot to myself and I’m sure it means a lot to other people in Hong Kong.”
We will discover how the remodeling embraced the restaurant’s eclecticism, from the traditional Chinese antiques and art, to the gold dragon and phoenix banquet hall, the diner booths, and dark-green 1970s tiles lining the staircase walls. The three floors were designed to represent different styles and different periods to attract a variety of clientele. William believes heritage preservation can contribute to urban regeneration, as opposed to the traditional Hong Kong practice of demolition and rebuilding.
Yvonne Kam, owner of the restaurant, will also share her views as a member of the third generation to carry on the family legacy.
Drinks and canapes custom designed for this special occasion will be served.

About the Speakers
William Lim, FAIA, lead designer of the Yung Kee renovation, is the Managing Director of CL3. He graduated from Cornell University with both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Architecture. After graduation, he worked in Boston for five years before returning to Hong Kong in 1987. He founded CL3 in 1992.
Yvonne Kam is the granddaughter of Mr. Kam Shui-fai, founder of the famed Yung Kee Restaurant. She is currently the CFO of Yung Kee Restaurant Group Limited overseeing financial operations and participating in daily management. Yvonne has been instrumental in the business activities of the Yung Kee Group of companies, playing a pivotal role in setting strategic goals and furthering the Yung Kee brand. Yvonne is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting. She is a Chartered Accountant in Canada and the US.
