AIA Hong Kong 2014 “Innovate, Invent, Inspire”
Please join AIA Hong Kong at our first event of the New Year with a guided tour of the exhibition Building M+: The Museum and Architecture Collection at ArtisTree in Quarry Bay. The exhibition will close on February 9, so please take the opportunity to share in this unique experience with your colleagues. After the tour we will gather next door for drinks and conversation.
Building M+: The Museum and Architecture Collection showcases Hong Kong’s new, multidisciplinary museum for visual culture, as seen through the lens of architecture. Offering a closer look at the future M+ building, scheduled for completion in late 2017, the exhibition tracks the ongoing development of the building’s design by the renowned Swiss firm of Herzog & de Meuron, with TFP Farrells and Ove Arup & Partners HK, and, for the first time, reveals the other shortlisted proposals from which it was selected in an international competition held last year.
About the Speaker: Aric Chen is the Curator of Design and Architecture at M+, the new museum for visual culture that will be the centerpiece of Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District.
In this capacity, he is charged with developing a permanent design and architecture collection and related programming for the 62,000 square-meter multidisciplinary museum that will also encompass 20th and 21st century art, and the art of the moving image.
