Dear Members and Friends of AIA Hong Kong,
Following the success of the 2018 Joint Symposium with HKIA and RIBA (HK), we are excited to share more new ideas with you as we continue our dialog on public and private spaces. AIA Hong Kong is launching a design competition to explore the concept of the “Smart City” – the first of which is to create smart street furniture for the digital age using innovative, sustainable and urban thinking.
What is the 21st century equivalent of a phone booth? This competition will encourage cross disciplinary teams to explore the lowly phone booth’s potential new use and identity in a smart city. The winners will get a chance to exhibit their prototype and present at our annual symposium. The competition will have two rounds and it is open only to young members (under 40 years of age) of AIA Hong Kong, HKIA and RIBA Hong Kong. Please download the design brief here to find out more.
