The second Webinar in our Emerging Technology series will focus on Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) for architecture and design teams.

Fernando Rial Ponce, Studio Design Director at KEO Group, will demonstrate how combining Twinmotion with Autodesk Workshop XR enables real-time, immersive design reviews that transcend screens and static presentations. He will show how to create engaging virtual environments that allow distributed teams and stakeholders to walk through projects, discuss changes spatially, and provide input live within the design context. He will also cover best practices for Workshop XR integration in design workflows, discuss hardware and collaboration protocols, and share insights from real-world implementations, including strategies to boost client involvement and decision-making speed.

Chris Quinlan, Design Technology Manager at HOK, will share how to augment architectural workflows using AI coding agents to build small plugins and scripts that remove everyday friction in existing toolchains. A key example is QuickCapture, a one-click workflow that exports the geometry passes AI image tools need, to illustrate the method behind creating reliable, production-ready automation.

About the Speakers

Fernando Rial Ponce
Studio Design Director, KEO Group

Fernando is a Spanish architect with 24 years of international experience designing buildings at significant scale. As Studio Design Director at KEO Group, he leads the firm’s design practice across Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and serves as Studio Design Business Developer for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His career has spanned five international studios across Europe, Asia and the Middle East — beginning in Barcelona at Diez-Cascón and ACXT/IDOM, followed by Studio FUKSAS in Rome, HOK in Shanghai and Hong Kong, NBBJ in Hong Kong, and now KEO in Doha. His work includes masterplans, mixed-use developments, hotels, residential, civic and healthcare projects, with particular fluency in supertall and large-scale typologies.

Architect and educator, Chris Quinlan is passionate about design that is rooted in culture, context, and craft. At HOK, he leads design technology across the Asia Pacific region, from computational workflows to emerging tools. His has carried out work for complex projects in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States, and has taught at both SCAD Hong Kong and at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
