Dear Members
The AIA International Spring Conference 2024 (AIAISC’24) is a 3-day virtual conference that will take place from March 14 to 16 when we will explore the theme of Decarbonizing Construction: From Material Production to Preservative Adaptive Reuse.
Join us in person for the AIA Hong Kong Chapter session on the first day of the conference, with Dr. Christine Bruckner, FAIA, Scott Brooks, Affiliate Member, AIA HK, and Yimei Chan, AIA, for a focused exploration of sustainable design excellence.
The session will focus on the verification metrics used for meaningful, holistic architectural design. Our speakers will outline how the Institute and AIA Hong Kong define and recognize excellence in design. They will also provide participants with a high level overview of the Framework for Design Excellence.
Alignment with Carbon Champion, the high performance metrics of the AIA International – Dow Sustainable Future Award and the UN Sustainable and Resilient Development Goals (SFA / RDG) will be shared. Architectural case studies that have received Honor Awards from AIA International and AIA Hong Kong will help illustrate fully integrated, sustainable design solutions.
This event will start with a welcome address by AIA International leadership. In addition to our Chapter’s in-person session, hybrid sessions will be hosted with:
- AIA Japan – Global Leadership in Materials Transparency by James Scott Brew
- AIA Middle East – Sustainability and AIA Global Practice by Li Ren and Michelle Montgomery
