Dear Members
Our upcoming event on sustainability co-hosted by AIA Hong Kong and AIA Taipei will provide a remarkable opportunity for you to gain valuable insights from renowned industry experts.
Vikki Lew, AIA, representing AIA Hong Kong, will share her experience of COP28 in Dubai, UAE, which she recently attended. With a particular focus on the AIA 2030 commitment material pledge, Vikki will shed light on the latest strategies for decarbonizing the built environment. Her expertise and observations will undoubtedly inspire attendees to consider innovative approaches to reduce the environmental impacts of their own projects.
Chris Chao, AIA, from AIA Taipei, will introduce his team member, Kuan-yin Wang, who will present Bio-architecture Formosana (BaF)’s sustainable arena project in Taichung. In collaboration with Kengo Kuma and Associates, the BaF team has designed an arena that not only showcases architectural excellence but also beautifully integrates with the surrounding natural environment. The presentation will highlight how simulations played a crucial role in the decision-making for this project, enabling the team to explore various design scenarios and their impacts on sustainability. This approach demonstrates how architecture can positively impact both the environment and the well-being of the local community, through thoughtful design and the strategic use of technology. Additionally, the presentation will feature a residential housing project in Tainan, highlighting its integration of passive and active design strategies to minimize its operational carbon emissions.
Join us for an enlightening and inspiring evening that will help positively shape your views of sustainable architecture.
