Join us for an exclusive evening with Mr. Donald Choi on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
A leading figure in the industry, Donald’s distinguished 40 year career as an architect and developer is truly inspiring. As we are looking this year at the theme of “Practice is __________”, our evening discussion and dinner with Donald will examine some of the most important moments in his career and enlighten us as to how we can learn from them to overcome challenges in our own practices.
The dinner will be co-hosted by AIA Hong Kong Founding President, Nelson Chen, FAIA FRIBA FHKIA, and 2025 AIA Hong Kong President, Eric Ho, AIA.

Biography
DONALD W. H. CHOI, JP FHKIA FHKIUD FHIREA MRAIC RIBA RAIA Hon. AIA (HK)
Donald has worked as an architect and developer for more than 40 years. He is a strong believer in the power of architecture, design, and technology to empower society.
He has been a Director of Foster + Partners and the Authorised Person (Architect) for the Hong Kong International Airport Passenger Terminal (HKIA Silver Medal Winner), President of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, President of the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design, and a Director of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, as well as Managing Director of the Nan Fung Group and Chief Executive Officer of the Chinachem Group.
Donald is now an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Real Estate and Construction at the University of Hong Kong, Board Chairman of the Construction Innovation and Technology Application Centre, President of the Hong Kong Institute of Real Estate Administrators, Director of the Hong Kong Design Centre, and has been appointed to the Council for Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Development by the HKSAR Chief Executive.
He is an alumnus and trustee of the Rhode Island School of Design and an Honorary Affiliate Member of AIA Hong Kong.
