Dear Members,
Lai Chi Wo is a 400-year-old farming village near the northern border of Hong Kong. It has been undergoing revitalization by the HKU Centre for Civil Society and Governance (CCSG) since 2013 with the support of the villagers and HSBC. The project received Special Recognition for Sustainable Development in the 2020 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
This full-day outing with Dr. Winnie Law and Ms. Anna Yau of the CCSG, will take us through the planning strategies on agriculture, sustainability, community, marketing and infrastructure. You will have an excellent opportunity to learn how the community came together to ensure the survival of this unique village.
This tour is limited to a maximum of 20 participants, on a first-come-first-served basis. If you would like to join the tour, please RSVP (rsvp@aiahk.org) with your full name and AIA membership number by 5:00pm on Thursday May 27, 2021 and, if you have any questions, contact the Chapter office at rsvp@aiahk.org / 2882-6011.
