Dear Members and Friends of AIA
Zaha Hadid Architects’ first sports and commercial project in Asia, GO PARK Sai Sha, is nestled between the mountains of Ma On Shan Country Park and the sheltered waters of Three Fathoms Cove, which lead out to the South China Sea. This new sports and commercial complex, part of Sun Hung Kai Properties’ (SHKP) integrated development in Sai Sha, serves as a community hub and encompasses 1.3 million sq.ft., providing extensive indoor and outdoor recreational and leisure facilities.
Since its official opening in January 2025, GO PARK Sai Sha has welcomed one million visits by local residents and tourists. Centered around a main piazza lined with cafes, restaurants and shops, the 300,000 sq.ft. sports and commercial complex is embedded within the undulating landscape of the region.
Informed by Hong Kong’s traditional mountain villages, the architecture comprises a series of volumes that welcomes visitors from all directions. The design is based on two key principles:
(1) the concept of a ‘fabric landscape’ that integrates nature into the heart of the design and
(2) a gentle ramp that ripples across multiple layers, defining a ‘lifted village’ of courtyards combining shopping, sports, and entertainment – all enriched by the surrounding nature.
